I am a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner from Germany, currently completing a double degree in Creative and Therapeutic Arts at the University of South Wales and Art Therapy at HfWU in Nuertingen, Germany.
Art has always been a special part of my life since I could hold a pen. I experienced the potential it holds. It is fun, whilst promoting and providing therapeutic support. Furthermore, my own perception, reflection and psychology are constantly present in my work. Bringing these two parts together makes me happy and is my passion in life.
My educational background is that I have been in art schools since I was 11 years old. First, my main interest in my education was music, then craft assignments, and after that I graduated from college in multi-disciplinary art. Therefore, my naturally mixed-media practice can combine wood, paper, stone, clay, metal, glass, sewing, photography, painting and drawing.
I work artistically with the topics of letting go, coping strategies and mindfulness in everyday life. I strongly believe that expression through art boosts self-esteem, self-perception and general health.
My aim for this exhibition is to provide inspiration and an invitation to give yourself more space in life, taking a mindful approach. Firstly, guided audio meditations, inspired by a walk from the old bridge in Pontypridd to the Bandstand in Ynysangharad Park, are accompanied by illustrations of the park in the booklet provided. Secondly, the booklet acts as inspiration to find the best way to engage with your inner world, because our subconscious knows so much more than we can know consciously. To relax and to relieve stress is important when finding the connection with yourself again. Therefore, some simple, suggested art activities have been included to help you with just that, to feel calmer and to be more present and mindful.
